ASILI NI TAMU FESTIVAL

Our own festival

Ngo·ma |

Swahili. Noun.

The art of traditional African drum and dance.

This year in March we planned to have the second edition of our infamous Asili ni Tamu Festival...! After a successful festival in 2019, we decided to make the 2020 edition even bigger with more performances. Unfortunately we had to cancel the festival due to Covid-19.

Postponed

Asili ni Tamu is now postponed until further notice. But be assured it will celebrate Tanzanian traditional culture with performances from groups from all over the country, workshops that focus on traditional arts and with lots of delicious tradtional food! Highlights and program will follow in due time.

Inspire

Traditional dance might seem old fashioned to most people. But we as Shine Africa believe that traditional dance is the mother of all dance. Our wish is to inspire many to embrace our traditions and to support the continuation of the special form of art.
